Just accountability, no exciting dresses today :-)

Tuesday, July 09, 2013

Well I am slowly regaining energy but still having a hard time not exercising. It is making me a little nuts because exercise serves both as my best source of stress relief but also my motivator. Having to go several weeks without any strong exercise is difficult, so I have vowed to log every morsel, watch my protein and fat intake very closely (pancreas works to digest these and I am trying to let it rest), drink a lot of water and just breathe for a change. This is probably the tightest calorie logging I have ever done on the Spark and I hope it will help keep me going until I can get my sweat on.

Past week accountability (Goal 1250-1550 daily)
July 2 - 1469
July 3 - 1523
July 4 - 1314
July 5 - 1380
July 6- 1273
July 7 - 1453
July 8 - 1317

I will be honest with pancreatitis I don't have much appetite so it is actually hard to keep foods down. It is an effective weight loss plan but I can't recommend it for anyone. Diet cran grape juice from Ocean Spray seems to settle my stomach so I have drank A LOT of it this week. Other than that, strict vegetarian diet with plenty of hummus, yogurt, and cottage cheese as well as fresh veggies from our farm share.

I went into work today for the first time since my illness, only a half day in the office - I am still low on energy but it went ok so I think I am taking things slow enough. Picking up my cycle from the repair shop tomorrow - but knee is far from healed so no rides yet.

Hope you all have a great day!

So glad to read you are doing better. Do lots of stretching in bed. It always helps me recover quicker.

On May 20 I went for a walk down the country road where I live twisted my ankle in a rut in the road and fell on my left knee. It hurt like hell and looks like I'm going to have quite the scar from that fall, so I can only imagine the fall you took on your bike!
Take all the time to recover that you need.

Well, I think it's great that you've come up with a plan to make sure you stay on track while you're unable to exercise. For me, in the past, any time an injury has prevented me from working out, I've gone way off track with food as well. As long as you keep up your determination, I think you will make it through this.

When life gives you cranberries you make juice. I too have a hard time keeping it together without hard exercise. But you're doing great keeping it all together. I hope you're back to feeling great soon!

Accountability can be just as exciting! And you're doing a great job with staying in your calorie range.
Try to get as much rest as your body needs and take it one step at a time. You'll be back on those wheels before you know it and stronger than ever!
Take good care of yourself.
