I've been in the career doldrums for awhile now. My last full time job was so demoralizing that a co-worker and I though we would be better off starting our own business than doing what we were doing for people who just exploited us.
We had an idea back then to write an inventory application for wineries for their inventory and to export their data to various ecommerce websites but for various reasons, namely the bankruptcy of the place that was to be my foot in the door, that idea pretty much died on the vine. Probably best not to be involved in the wine industry anyway.
So, the two of us kept in contact for the last few years, asking each other, have any good ideas yet? And each of our answers was always no. We were both in a rut and rudderless. We both kept skill building and working but neither one of us was particularly enthusiastic about our long term prospects doing what we were doing. But, today we have an idea and we both think it's great. So that feels very good.
Won't say was it is until its developed but I was fortunate that there were still openings in the Computer Aided Design class at my local community college that starts in August.
There is hope for me to have a career I enjoy and can prosper from yet! Here's hoping!
