Whew, hard work catching up!

Monday, July 08, 2013

Well, I had no internet most of last week, so now I've been catching up. I am on a couple of really good teams with wonderful challenges, but it all requires a lot of computer time. Naturally without internet I had not read blogs, so today I thought I'd read and reply to some of the recent ones. I have read 33 blogs! Needless to say I've been sitting at the computer way too long. That was only for one team, I still have blogs to read on the other! I'd like to track time on computer for Spark, and then I'd like to see how I can decrease that time. I love it, but it's a lot of sitting so I need to streamline without cutting any of the good things, but then what isn't good on Spark. I have to get more effective. I have learned to open about 5 tabs when reading blogs. I can never go back after reading a blog, so I have to go back to teams, pick my team, pick a blog, read it, reply, and start all over. Very time consuming. Maybe someone reading this has a better way. I don't have the fastest service anyway, and there is a lot of waiting for downloads on doing this. I'd love a quicker way. emoticon emoticon

I agree with FIT4MEIN2013 - I have had to say no to some things. I was stretching myself too thin and wasn't able to log my minutes / my nutrition and things I really needed to do.

I am only doing 2 challenges at one time - I think they compliment each other - sure wish they were on the same time frame! LOL

I opted out of a couple leadership positions so that I could concentrate on these 2 challenges.

I'm not sure what browser you're using. I have Google Chrome, and when I click on a blog on the ticker thingie on the side of the main team page, it always opens that blog in a separate tab. When I'm done, I just click that tab closed, and I"m back on the main team page.

I had to cut back, reading only5-10 daily, and only on 2 challenges. As a Community Team member I also have other responsibilities, but we have to be careful to not let the computer overshadow our own need for activity!

Our internet was down for a few hours yesterday as my husband was rewiring our dining room for ceiling fans. I'll appreciate the fans as we try to avoid using the AC any more than we need to, but I like to be able to go back and forth from the computer to other activities. I guess that is my solution, I spend quite a bit of time on Spark but I sandwich it between gardening, housework, reading, doing errands etc. Otherwise it can take over your life.

I am not as good as you about reading all the blogs on my teams. I just pick some that sound interesting , read and reply. I also pick other blogs from ones that appear in the lineup of what everyone else is reading. It's a great way to meet new people. I guess I am not as good at being supportive of the group as you are. You do a great job and we appreciate your thoughtful comments! Millie

I can relate to the time issue. Just got back on the website after being away for a few days. Hopefully someone will be able to help us both with some suggestions on navigating the website a little more efficiently.
