New Toy and Days 52 - 57

Monday, July 08, 2013

So for those of you following along, I did NOT give up! I have continued my 10 minutes of daily exercise, I am happy to report. Plus, I bought myself a new toy for extra motivation.

7/3 (Day 52) - 10 minutes
7/4 (Day 53) - 40 minutes of walking, broken up in 10 minute segments throughout the day
7/5 (Day 54) - 10 minutes
7/6 (Day 55) - 30 minutes...the kids and I went to the pool and we were there for 5 hours, so I gave myself 30 minutes of exercise (not sure if it's close to accurate, but it seems fair - in my head anyway)
7/7 (Day 56) - 10 minutes

On Friday afternoon, I got my new toy - the UP band from Jawbone - and I gotta say, it's pretty neat! I like the user interface and I'm enjoying seeing my patterns in sleep and movement. And I like having a goal for sleeping in addition to getting in more steps than I have been in the past. I done It would be better if it synced with SP, but maybe it will in the future. Most importantly, it's got me feeling better about exercise again.

If you are an UP user and want a new teammate, look me up - Katie Mustelier. Or send me your name and I'll look you up. :)

Another positive from the weekend...going to the pool. Who would have thought?! I tried on an old bathing suit two sizes smaller than the one I had been using and it actually fit okay (not perfect, but I could move comfortably in it). :) Finally, a bit of good news!

With the holiday (complete with a 4 day weekend!!) and my mom's birthday and being at the pool, I've consistently consumed well over my allotted daily calorie range for the past few days), but I'm not going to be upset about it. I've essentially taken a break and will get back to work this week....

Yeah! This blog puts a big smile on my face! Very happy for you! I knew that there would be a sign that the exercise is paying off and it paid off in 2 sizes!! Good for you!

The new toy sounds fun! I keep seeing/hearing people talk about these types of toys but I haven't really looked into them. I just dug out my pedometer the other day and got a new battery for it. Perhaps if I can stick to my plan and increase my steps I can treat myself to a new toys someday too!

Nice to see you in brighter spirits! Glad you like your wristband. I recently got a Fitbit and I love the sleep tracking too!

Good for you getting a new toy-that's also a great benefit!
