Quick Update - And BIG "Thank You!!"

Monday, July 08, 2013

First of all, I want to thank all of you, my amazing Spark Friends, for the comments on my race blog! My official time was 39:38 - 9:55 pace. emoticon Thank you ALL for the support and the kind words!

In other news - I have a sinus infection now. After running 6.5 miles on Saturday I spent all of Sunday on the couch unable to breathe and with a sore throat. Today I'm at work, but still feeling pretty gross. I'm afraid it will be tough to run with my sore throat. So... that sucks.

I started taking Chantix yesterday. For those of you who don't know - you continue smoking while you are taking the pills. The way the doc explained it is that one day you just won't want to smoke. So, I am awaiting that day. The hubs has already switched to his e-cig and I'm still smoking, but don't plan on buying anymore when the 2 packs we have are gone. We shall see how this goes.

That is my update for now - I'd better get back to work. But what is most important in all of this is -

Oh no. I hope you are feeling better soon. Good luck with the Chantix. I don't know much about it, but I know you've been wanting to do this for so long. I hope between the med and your never ending motivation you will be able to do it!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. emoticon

I'll say it again... emoticon on your race time. Under a 10 minute mile that's fantastic I can only dream of hitting that at some point. As for working on quitting smoking good for you! I myself don't do it, but have some close friends who do/did and know that's not always the easiest journey, if you need support let me know! I think it's great that you already have a bit of an end goal with not buying anymore. Lastly, I hope you feel better soon. Take a break from the running if you have to, I can't imagine doing it with a sore throat, and you don't want to weaken your body more. Let it fight the sinus infection. Feel better

Just to share with you that the medicine you are taking does work. I quit 5 years ago using it and it was painless! Best of luck you and your DH!
