Because I have celiac disease, I cannot usually eat any of the snacks people bring into the office. For that, I am grateful. I remember the days when I used to grab a bagel or donut just because they were there. I don't miss that.
I had breakfast this morning (yogurt with flax cereal) but when I got into the office I was still hungry, so I made a packet of oatmeal. I don't usually eat two breakfasts. While I had berries with me, I still chose to make the oatmeal. Bad decision #1.
While I was eating the oatmeal, my favorite co-worker emailed me to say that she made gluten-free cupcakes this weekend, and brought in the leftovers. She wanted to give me one before she put them out to the wolves (my words, not hers). I finished the oatmeal, washed my bowl, and then graciously accepted a cupcake. My plan was to eat it after lunch.
You know what they say about best laid plans... The cupcake was gone by 10am. Bad decision #2.
The cupcake was only OK (Betty Crocker's GF mixes aren't great) but the icing was divine. So this wolf went into the kitchen took a second cupcake! Bad decision #3. I really did save it for after lunch, but that still means I ate 2 cupcakes by 1pm today. As I type this, my belly is FULL.
I don't know know why I did it. From here, I can only look forward, right?
