A lesson from a 3 year old.

Little 3 year old Penny, her baby sister Ellie and I were in my room this morning playing on the bed. (If mommy is reading this, we were not jumping.) Ellie decided she had enough and got off the bed and went into my bathroom.
No babies in my bathroom. That is the rule.
Ellie didn't like that rule. There are medications in bottles that make all kinds of fun noises. I turned Ellie out of the bathroom and told her no. She told me no back and went back into the bathroom looking for those pill bottles. Again I turned her around and put her outside the door and then closed the door. (Oh the good old days when I could close the door and she could not open it.) Ellie is a girl who knows what she wants. Again she went into the bathroom. This time with a very firm voice and a mean look, I told her NO!
Penny came up to me at that point and told me "I needed to pray to God and tell him to give me kindness. God likes kindness and wants us to be kind to everyone and I need to be kind to baby Ellie."
I am not sure kindness will help here, but the whole conversation was not to Ellie's liking and she ran off to get into other things.
