This was a long, yet productive weekend for me. The administrators at my job asked if staff would take the 5th off and have an extended weekend and this year I didn’t hesitate to do so. Normally, I can work when these requests come through because my busiest time of the month is the first with my month end financials due, my monthly billing, etc.

I got a lot cleaning out done, exercised, packed up my youngest daughter’s bedroom. She just graduated from college, Summa Cum Laude, in May and moved to her first non-college apartment. It’s just her and her Yorkie and it’s really nice. On Saturday afternoon, we drove (3 hours away) her furniture to her and unloaded it up a flight of stairs (she’s on the second floor). Then we went to the old apartment and moved more of her stuff down more stairs (she was on the second floor) to the new apartment (more stairs). Needless to say, I was beyond tired when we finished. Then we stayed up until after midnight until she got off work. Oh, did I mention that she was at work the entire time!!!

Also, before we left, I went blueberry picking. I had to fight the bees for the berries, but I got almost 5 lbs. I froze some for smoothies later and kept some to just eat. I love them with cottage cheese or alone.

We returned home yesterday and my plan was to go to the gym as that is my good day there. I can really take my time and do 2 reps of each exercise and then get in at least 30-45 minutes of cardio. I work at the gym and normally I workout at lunch time, so I don’t have much time to linger. After work, I’m just too ready to get away from the job. I went to lunch with my coworkers one day and planned my workout after I got off, and it was hard. I’m glad it was only cardio and not weights and cardio. But, instead of going to the gym, I went with my husband to drop off the trailer, moved some items from the garage to storage and then helped him move some branches that he had cut to the front for pickup today. Then, I cooked! Then, I work up a little before 1 am and didn’t go back to sleep until after 3 am! Needless to say, I am exhausted.

Today, I almost skipped my workout and just rest and start again tomorrow. But, I promised myself that I would push through and this was a test and I passed with flying colors!!! I know exercise is what I have to do to even think about losing any weight and I have to take care of me. I do count all the moving and going up and down the stairs as exercise, but it wasn’t my formal exercise, it was a bonus. I had planned to weight in this morning, but I completely overslept, so I will have to do it tomorrow. Hopefully I lost a pound!

I know I can do this!
