I'm starting to sense a trend here... ideas?

Well, last week started off great. Last week I set some goals and at first, things went great! We were experiencing a nasty heat wave this past week! It was in the 100's every day and it was hot hot hot. In fact it was so hot, drinking a gallon plus of water each day was a no brainer! I was chugging the stuff! And so was my son! He was making soggy wet diapers left and right! I changed so many wet diapers this week, I was having dreams about it last night! With all the water drinking and heat, I struggled to meet my minimum calorie intake! Despite the heat, I managed to get out and walk every day! So I was doing great! Then came the 4th! Day started out great, had a small sensible breakfast and packed an apple and some water for a hike and rock climbing with friends. The hike was great I felt AWESOME! And I could feel where some ignored muscles were getting a work-out. Came home to a shower and a healthy lunch. And of course, more water. At 5:00 our apartment complex gathered around the grill for a bbq. To which, I brought cake... first mistake. Then I sampled virtually everything. I took it easy and quit eating for the rest of the day. I didn't track my calories because honestly, I had no clue what I ate. The next day I tried to eat healthy but my stupid cake was staring at me all day so...two more pieces of cake ( thank heaven my husband had some so that was the end of the cake) for the day, I was about 600 cals over. Saturday was better, I got back on track. We had some friends over so I made some treats but only had a couple pieces but even with the sweets, I stayed in my budget. Yesterday, I weighed in and was disappointed with only a half pound loss (for the 3rd week in a row). So my question to you, as a third party observer, my complete slow down in weight loss, is it from my lack of vigilance in the foods I choose, or am I leveling into a plateau? My stress level has gone up these past few weeks... Do I need to go back to fiber one for breakfast and salads at lunch? Or do I step up my physical activity again? Or both? I'm only a couple months in and 17.5 pounds down... is it too early for a plateau? Thanks for listening all! Here's to a better week!
