Ok, my goal this week is to catch up on my blogs. I'm tired of writing about stuff 4-5 days after it happens. We'll see how that goes. Let's talk about Wednesday, Day #78, 7/3/13.
Here's the exercise that I did Wednesday (7/3/13):
8.2 miles of walking - Wednesday's lunch walk was to the Korean War Memorial
I was really proud of myself on Wednesday. At first, I was just going to take it easy all day. I knew I wouldn't be able to do my morning walk because I had to drive into work and wouldn't do my evening walk because my wife and I would be on the way to the beach. So I was about to use Wednesday as a Rest/Travel Day. But by lunch time I was determined to get some exercise in. So before I went on my lunch walk, I found a vacant office and did the pushups and squats. Then I had a nice lunch walk, here are some more pictures from the walk:
The last picture was towards the end of my lunch walk right before I got back to work. I love seeing horses up close, they're such beautiful animals. So after I got back from the lunch walk, I had a couple more hours of work, then my wife and I headed to the beach. It was about a 3 1/2 hour drive because we stopped to get dinner (Chipotle), so we ended up getting to Ocean City, Maryland around 8:00 pm. This was the view from the hotel room:
So after we got in the hotel room, instead of relaxing or getting into the bed or stuffing my face, I went out on the boardwalk and just started walking. It was great. I more than made up for the fact that I didn't have a before work or after work walk. That's why my walking distance for the day was high. I did 3.2 miles during lunch and 5.0 miles on the boardwalk. I love the boardwalk at night, see the picture below:
So it was a great day and a fantastic start to my vacation.
