a warm and sunny day

Monday, July 08, 2013

a day to keep cool as much as possible. i sent an extra bottle of water with my daughter today. she is spending time at her grandparents place. they have air conditioning, so i know everyone there will keep cool today. when i am at school and she is not, she spends time at her grandparents place. they love to have her there and she loves to be there. she is in a summer reading club program at the local library and loves it. once a week, she gets a book to read, reads it and does a report on it. every week there is a different prize to get. as for me, after some soul searching, i have decided to switch my college major. as much as i like what i am learning now, i feel that the switch i want to do will be better for me. i will also do much better in school this way, too. i had taken the other major many years ago and i really enjoyed it. i just did not get to finish it then, that is all. i feel that the major i am in now is not the best fit for me after all. i will meet with an academic advisor this afternoon to get that all sorted out. i definitely will continue in school. i just feel that i need to switch it now, so i do not end up failing. i feel more confident in the other major as well. it will still be in the business area. it will be in office administration instead of accounting, that is all. even if i end up having to pay for the last semester of the other major myself, that is fine with me. in that program, it is just offered in the winter and fall semesters. it does not have the spring/summer semester option. unless you need to repeat a course inbetween. then you can do so during that semester. instead of finishing in 2014, i will be finishing in 2015. that is fine with me,since it means i will fully enjoy my college experience and do really well academically. my birds are doing well and say hello, hello! have a great day, everyone!

There should never be any hesitation to change course if you feel that is what is best for you. I applaud you recognizing that you wanted to do something different then doing it! hats off to you!

Good for You, for doing some self reflection and acting upon it. Changing your major to something you are sure you want to do is a good idea. You'll do better in something that You feel you want to do.
Your daughter sounds very motivated- good for her!
    Have a Great Day!

You have to do what works for you. Not good not being happy. Good for you - even if it takes longer, it's worth it. Hello daughter and hello birdies!

Your blog reminds me of my college days. They were hard years and fun years too. I changed my major a couple of times as I went along and that was okay for me too. I wish you the best with your schooling and your SP goals too.

If you want, you could post one of your daughter's book reports here, one that you like best, at the end of the summer. I love children and volunteer at the local library and I think it is great what they do for the children in the summer.

Have a GREAT day!! emoticon Love, Chelsea emoticon
