MY BLC journey so far...

We are in our 5th week going into week 6 on Wednesday for BLC on Sparkpeople. I set a goal to lose 10 pounds for the 12 weeks. I'm on target to achieve that goal. I've already lost more than half of those pounds that I set to loose. I'm also on target of loosing the 30 pounds by December that I set to loose. The 10 pounds are my short term goal and the 30 pounds is my long term goal. I ste my weight loss in in increments so it is easy for me to measure and achieve.

I love BLC on Sparkpeople especially the Steely Sapphire team. I am accountable to my team EVERY day which is a benefit for MY journey of living a healthy lifestyle.

1.) I'm committed to try to do 10,000 daily stdps. This is easy for me during the week but on the weekends it can be difficult because I want to just be lazy. I can still get 10,000 steps in on the weekends and relax. With the encouragement my team and my fearless leadership, I can get this goal accomplished.

2.) I'm committed to drink 100 ounces of water on a daily basis. It's the summer months and and I do a lot of walking outside so I want to stay hydrated.

3.) I'm committed to myself to get a minimum of 60 minutes of some form of exercise each day. The exercise vary each day based on the BLC challenges.

4.) I'm committed to myself to report calories in and calories out (CICO). I love this measuring tool. It allows you to see what you are actually doing and making sure you are not cheating yourself. You can use it to see where you can make adjustments if you need to. I take it further and make sure that I am eating lean and clean every day. My body is my temple and I want to make sure it is taking care of. I already know what it feels like when I eat unhealthy and I don't like the feeling so I don't do it. I enjoy eating planned delicious meals on a daily basis. My body likes it and it makes my life so much easier.

5.) I can go on and on about my BLC journey and how it is benefiting me but the above 4 items are just a few items that are tools being used for my healthy lifestyle.

So, i am going to RAWK BLC until I can. It is working for me and I'm loving it.

    I like this idea of writing down commitments. You have done a great job. I am really interested in the CICO calculation. I keep all my info but haven't taken that last step of calculating it. I think I will start tomorrow, only because today was a travel day and not the norm. emoticon for the reminder.

    So excited for you! I can't wait to read about you hitting your BLC goal and your December goal.

I have the same opportunity on the weekend with getting the steps in. Any tricks you've got to help with the motivation to move would be greatly appreciated.
