beating the heat!

Ahh nearly a month has passed since I've updated. I'm not surprised because I was barely home in the past month... unfortunately, I had to break my log-in spark streak, but fortunately, I stayed reasonably on track! I did bring my resistance bands in my suitcase, tried to practice portion control and intentionally ate more fruit/veggies. And walked A LOT! As of this week, I'm down 9kg since I started which is officially 20 pounds! emoticon I don't really feel like I've lost 20 pounds, but I am down 1 size in pants, and can see more definition in my arms and waist. I guess I've also gained some muscle from all the squats, lunges, and planks I've been doing. I was hoping for a quieter summer, but so far July is also looking pretty busy, including a week-long kids camp with no A/C (I'm expecting to lose at least 5 pounds that week in sweat alone LOL)

The hard things about summer:
I want to eat ice cream, all the time
It's too hot to move emoticon

The good things about summer:
I can swim emoticon
I have more motivation to make cool, fruity breakfast smoothies and nice cool salads
I'm already sweaty and need a shower, so why not add a workout to the mix and get REALLY sweaty, then I'll enjoy the shower that much more
I remember to drink water more! emoticon

    emoticon on the 20 pounds and going down a pant size! You are staying the course, that is what is important!
Ice cream is ok once in awhile, but it you are like me, once I get started on it, it is hard to stop! emoticon emoticon
I used to hate getting out in the heat and sweating, but now I have to just to exercise! I refuse to stay in the house because it is hot! Of course, I have my limits and no A/C would be the pits! If the heat index goes over 100, I will stay indoors in the A/C!

    emoticon A lot of my thoughts exactly! We don't have AC, so I was sweating when I started working out and then kept working out for a little while longer since I was sweating so much! emoticon summer blog!
