Why do we do this to us?

Monday, July 08, 2013

Weekend nights are semi-slow compared to weeknights at work. Some of the vendors will bring dinner, which is good. I will eat what is on the diet and taste the other stuff, but the sweets for desert!, a fresh brownie with frosting and pecans, DELISH!! I crashed, I took a small piece and will give the rest to another co-worker that will eat it.
You can't throw it away, right? So after I ate, I walked around for 45 minutes for some well needed extra exercise, then took another small piece, did a lil computer work and another small piece. Well needless to say, that co-worker can get the other half out of the garbage to eat it, if I had not done that , he still wouldn't have gotten it. And you all know what I'm talking about, those things really do talk to you, then disappear inside you.
So I think next time, I'll just throw it away, which I hate to do.
Hey! we gotta start controlling the food and not the food controlling us!

I like your attitude. Desserts are a problem area for me--especially on weekend. Since my Dessert Weekend Challenge(eat just half of what I would have eaten), I am doing much better. I am not giving up desserts, I am using a new strategy. emoticon

In answer to your question, I think others do this to us, and our food rich environment does this to us. We just aren't very well designed to resist those temptations. But we can use our brains, and eat and drink in a preventative way, so we don't give in so easily. Glenn
