A decent day...

Sunday, July 07, 2013

Yet another day of Cooper refusing to walk very much. Good thing he has a vet appointment tomorrow. It is just a check up and vaccines, but I will ask the vet about his lack of energy as well. So, three short dog walks today. Very slow ones at that. I did get out to run twice though. The first time I did 2.1 miles in 17 minutes, and the second time I went out I did 1.5 miles in 14 minutes. It was a little cooler today, so I worked up a sweat while running, but I didn't feel like I was bordering on heat stroke. I also bounced on the rebounder for about 15 minutes and did 2 SP videos.

I paid a bunch of bills today that have been sitting by my computer just waiting for me to do something about them. Made me feel like I got something accomplished. There are things I need to do around my apartment, but I really didn't feel like dealing with them today.

Tomorrow I will be the taxi service for my nieces. I am walking out to my parents' farm in the morning to get my dad's truck. I am not going to try and get Cooper to walk it with me, since I would probably end up carrying him most of the way. So, I will take him for a quick walk before I leave, then in the crate he goes.

Would you like to come to my house to pay some bills?

I wonder if Cooper might have doggie PTSD. His attack was a bad one and that can certainly cause emotional as well as physical trauma. He might also still be in pain from his wounds and walking makes them worse.

I hope the vet has some answers for you. I hate to think of an animal suffering in any way.

I'm so sad to hear that your puppy is still having trouble. It is heart wrenching when our pets are in poor health. I hope you get some answers soon!

All the best!

Hoping the vet has some insight for Cooper, he has been out of sorts much longer than expected.

Glad you are going to the vet tomorrow. I hope you get a good report and this is just short-term.

Poor Coop. My 11 yo chihuahua, Spartacus, usually peters out a couple of times on our hour+ walks - I've been wearing a carrybag to plop him in for a few minutes while the others keep walking. He'll perk up again and keep up (until the next time he balks)
