Boy does that blog title include lots of words I never thought I'd say about myself.
It's been ages since I've updated this blog, but I think I should do it more regularly now I'm entering unknown territory - maintaining this 111 pound weight loss! I hit my goal weight at Weight Watchers yesterday morning (normal BMI! Woo hoo!) which was very exciting! To reach Lifetime status (meaning the tracking tools and meetings would be free), I need to maintain my weight between 162 and 166 for the next six weeks. I feel like I have a good feel at this point for how much and what to eat to lose weight. I'm glad I have six weeks to figure out how much to eat to maintain it! I've never really maintained a steady weight before - I was always gradually gaining. My plan is to keep tracking meticulously, including the "free" foods, keep up the daily weights to watch the pattern and keep up my activity at usual levels. This means 10,000 steps a day, push ups and planks every night and running at least three nights a week. My husband and I have been talking and decided I also need to set a new activity goal to keep things going now that I won't have those weekly weight loss goals to celebrate.
Disney's Princess Half Marathon!
I have over 7 months to get ready and am already up to four miles on the long runs I do weekly anyway, so crazily enough, this is a realistic goal! I'll do a 10K here in Omaha in September (my first chipped run and my fourth official run of the year after 3 5Ks, so I'll meet the goal I set at New Years) as a warm up too. I think having a new goal will help as I start this journey for a healthy rest of my life. Those 111 lbs aren't just lost! They're never coming back!
