So I'm going to count today as a success. I started out the morning great, with a healthy bowl of Cheerios with blueberries and strawberries. YUM! Then headed off to flyball with Peanut, trying to beat the heat. It's our second to last class, possibly forever, since my instructor is selling her house and we don't have anywhere else to practice. :-( sad. Anyway, she had DONUTS there! YIKES!
and while I should have been good and not eaten any, of course I wasn't LOL.
BUT...kudos to me (patting self on back :-)) because I did NOT let that derail me for the day! It would have been very easy to say, whoops, already ate donuts, might as well just say the heck with trying to meet my calorie goals for the day! Instead, though, I went home, put the donuts into my tracker, and then figured out what I could eat for lunch and dinner that would still keep me in calorie range for the day! So a granola bar for lunch and a whole wheat tortilla with a single piece of cheese for an afternoon snack let me still have enough calories left to enjoy my Moroccan-Braised Chicken Thighs with couscous for dinner. And I even have about 100 cal left!
Plus I've already more than met my fitness minute goal for the day (1 mile dog walk, then flyball, then Zumba), and I still have a 2-3 mile walk to do with Peanut. So today is going to be a red letter day for sure.
I'm hoping that the scale will reflect the victory over the donuts, but we'll have to see on that one. Earlier this week the scale was finally headed back down instead of up, but this morning it went the wrong direction. I don't normally weigh every day, though, so we'll see. Not sure why I started weighing daily, but I figured I'd track it daily for a few weeks before going back to my weekly weigh ins. But I'm not putting it in SP every day, I'm just going to put it in on my "normal" Tuesday weigh in.
I didn't get a lot accomplished around the house, but that doesn't really matter - it's just me that sees if the laundry doesn't get done LOL.
Grocery shopping is done and meals are planned for at least the first part of the week, so hopefully I can make this next week just as successful on the calorie front as this week was.
