Injury yesterday - Time off today

Sunday, July 07, 2013

I didn't run this morning. I decided before I fell asleep last night. My knee was still aching when I went to bed.

It was much better this morning, but I stuck to it. I took today off of running. It is not worth pushing an injury. I am off work tomorrow morning - I don't start until 1pm. I can do my long run in the morning.

I really hate doing a long run right after a day off. I have issues getting back to running after a day off. I am still partially debating going out for under a mile today. Just to keep it from being way too hard tomorrow morning. But then I realize I went for a bike ride today. I'm tired. And it's not worth risking my knee today. I'll take it easy, and give it all I can tomorrow morning.

I watched what I ate today, and with the bike ride this afternoon, I should have close to a 1500 calorie deficit. I am 30grams low on carbs. I think I'm going to do what I can to close that gap tonight. Maybe some frozen yogurt with home canned fruit. I'll have to see how many carbs I can gain, and how many calories that will use up. It needs to be worth the trade off.

Ah. Just looked it up. 200 calories, and 44grams of carbs. I think I'll be doing that tonight.

So I'm off to help hubby make supper. Hope you all have a great night.

Sounds like a good choice. Further injury would only set you back. I hope by today (Monday) you feel up to your long run.

I hope many of the newer sparkers read your blog. You give sage words of advice without even trying. It's important to take care of ourselves. You see the value of that.

You deserve a emoticon
