I'm writing this entry to mark the beginning of my journey. I have set a goal to lose 20lbs by Thanksgiving. I've done this before and have more than enough knowledge, resources and support to achieve this. I've read a million times, people's stories about how they slowly gained over the course of a number of years and all of the sudden found themselves 50lbs heavier. I swore that wouldn't happen to me.
I knew i'd been feeling a little thick lately, a little squishier than normal. I thought about it and even though I've gained slowly (one might say over a number of years...) I realized I had added 20lbs over the last 2ish years. That's 10lbs each year! This can't continue! I've become one of those stories. So i've decided to return to a healthy weight and a firmer body. I have my plan, I've taken my weight and measurements (what an eye opener that was!) and I'm ready to go. Today marks day one. My hope for this journey is to not only shed some unwanted lbs but to tone up, improve flexibility, reduce back pain, reduce stress, improve sleep and self esteem.
So there it is, in writing. Let the games begin!
