Hard to believe we have already made it through the first week in July. I hope everybody had a wonderful Fourth of July. I did pretty well this week. I even stayed on track with my diet. I think having to go to work that evening really helped out. I pack my own lunches when I go to work, so I am able to pick healthy options.

Had a very interesting evening at work last night. Our elevator broke down during our meal time for the residents, so we were having to haul food trays up and down the stairs, to feed our residents, who were not yet in the dining room, and were not able to go down the stairs. Got a workout last night. Then there was the task of getting residents up the stairs, that were to do so. Elevator finally got fixed around 10pm. The repairman comes from the Portland area, so he had a 4 hour drive over the mountain to get to us. This morning my back is really sore. Going to take it easy today and do some gentle stretching.

The last four mornings I have woke up, and both my right and left hand have been numb and tingling. I will be making an appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning to find out what is going on. It's not just the numbness and tingling, but it hurts as well. Also has a hard time stopping the numbness. I am praying that it's something simple, and nothing serious.

My heart and prayers go out to the families of the 19 firefighters that were lost to us in the Arizona fire. Yesterday at our local Frontier Days, our firefighters marched down main street to remember the 19. I thought it was a very touching and emotional.

I have decided to only weigh myself once a month. I have found that getting on the scale once a week, was starting to make me feel depressed, so I backed off. Took the batteries out of the scale, gave them to my husband and told him to hide them. Only to give them to me on the first of each month. I hope everybody has a wonderful week.

God didn't make a mistake when He made you. You need to see yourself as God sees you.

Get your hands seen to as soon as possible It could be something really simple, and that will take away any worry. You sound as though you are working hard. You need energy and patience for what you do. Thank you for being a blessing to your residents.

Glad you are getting your hands checked. I have carpal and cubital syndromes and have the pain and numbness both hands/ arms.

Glad you can take it easy after such a full day at work! Sounds like quite a workout!

I am sorry you have had the hand discomfort...nerve entrapment is a common cause and relatively easy to remedy. Relaxation, changing position, liniment and sometimes bracing also seems to give relief and prevent overuse...the most obvious cause. Feel better soon.
