As I Walked!

Sunday, July 07, 2013

I went out for a walk this morning. The breeze was cool although, the temperature was already in the 80. It should be around 101 today. It was so calming watching the birds fly overhead. Along the way I picked up can to be recycled. There's this homeless man that lives in the Mountains and he comes down every morning to collect cans. So, I left them at the corner for him. Thirty minutes into my walk, I was charged by a dog. I charged right back and he left me alone. I guess, he wasn't expecting that one. I continued my walk and I thought about all the things, I am grateful for in my life. Including not being bitten by a dog. emoticon

Glad you were able to scare the dog back and weren't bitten! That's sweet of you to leave the cans for your "Mountain Man." Sounds like a nice walk. I have to do my walking early too before it gets hot. Once the heat sets in, I don't want to do much of anything that requires me to be outside.

I bet the dog was really surprised that you charged back at him. Most animals try to intimidate at first, but they really are saying "who are you" and "can we play".

That was very thoughtful of you to put the cans all together in one spot for your 'Mountain man'. emoticon

I would've been grateful not to have been bitten by the dog also!!! That incidence would have left me a little shakey! Glad that you are ok!

Did you wear your new shoes? There are two very barky, assertive dogs on one of my regular walk routes. Apparently they have a radio fence as they come to a specific point and stop. The owners have a small building outside that point with a sign that says to leave packages there. The dogs are still a little scary. I usually walk on the other side of the road. BTW, that dog should be restrained when it is outdoors. Perhaps a note to the owner that you will notify animal control if it continues to occur would be in order.

What a scare. Did the dog belong to someone, is it someone you can talk to about his/her being on the loose? Glad you didnt have to deal with a bite or even worse a mauling.
