I struggled with the invitation - 3 friends wanted to get together for lunch and I panicked. I am just getting my eating mojo back and I did not want to lose it; I am at the point where one slice of cake can become a slice of cake everyday for a month. My first reaction was to say , "No" and pass on spending time with my friends (one who I have not seen in about 2-3 yrs). Not going would be ridiculous and I would miss the fun of catching up on what has gone on in our lives.
Not wanting to miss the fun , my second reaction was to just eat with abandonment and then exercise like a fiend the rest of the month . That would not work either , the binge then over-exercise not only is not healthy but I can no longer mess around with my metabolism in that manner without it slowing down to a crawl.
The third reaction was the charm - I went to the web page for the restaurant ( Legal Seafood ) and I have picked out a few choices that will not wreck my daily calories, will not clog my arteries and will leave me satiated and able to move after the lunch. Really , the meal is not the main course but connecting with friends is the reason for us getting together.
