First home visit

Saturday, July 06, 2013

I had my first home visit today from a PT nurse today. I really hate it when a nurse will not listen to anything I say. I have had not problem with any of my transfers. She wanted to help me, I told just let me do it. She asked how many time I had fallen, I told none and she said she did not believe that. I have not fallen. She will not be my regular pt person, thank goodness,

PT is good stuff. Hope you get a professional you get on with.

Try saying what has happened to you
Rather than letting a tired nurse guess.
Good you are getting another one that hopefully is not absentminded

Sure sorry for the bad experience with the P T., chalk that one up to a "bad day" on her part. They can be reported I'm sure. Better luck with the next one.

It's just so wrong when a PT person doesn't listen to their patient. I am so glad she is not your permanent person!

That is not funny but it is. How can she tell you whether you fell or not? Really? Glad she isn't here to stay.....

God bless & heal....

Sorry she didn't listen to you I know of some people who never listen to me so I don't worry using my words.

So sorry you had such a disappointing encounter. Odd that she would choose to not believe you when she had NO reason not to.
Echoing the other posts - thank goodness she's just a temp!

She doesn't realize how determined and independant that you are!
Keep on doing what you must.

I have had a lot of PT for my multiple sclerosis and, like you, I didn't work with anyone who didn't believe me or who patronized me. I am glad you will have someone new. The relationship has to start with TRUST and she didn't trust you. I hope the rest of your weekend goes well. emoticon

I find that refusal to listen is one of the least attractive traits in a care person, doctor, PT, nurse, etc. What part of LISTENING don't they understand? I am sorry it was an unpleasant visit.

Hopefully the next PT nurse will be much better. Someone with lots of experience and who will listen! But so glad you are at home.

I hate it when anybody doesn't listen to what I say. I have been lucky tho, all my pt's have listened... I think.
