Just read Watson's article regarding binge eating and learned a bunch. While I recommend that all read her piece in its entirety, my take-aways for what they're worth are as follows...
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate in this blasted Jersey heat! I recently stumbled upon the epiphany that I often crave sweets and fatty foods more in summer than in any other season. This might very well be because I'm thirsty, not so much hungry, and my body does not know the difference.
Skipping meals and engaging in strangely timed eating will "wreak havoc" on my blood sugar, making it exponentially more difficult to avoid bad foods and bad eating later. Be mindful, deliberate and punctual about meals and keep the sugars under control to stay under control.
Finally, I "know (my) limits" and thus should not have trouble or trigger foods within arm's reach, especially over the weekends when I have more time to cave and eat them.
As always, thanks for reading.
