White Out

Saturday, July 06, 2013

" While one person hesitates because he feels inferior , another person is busy making mistakes and becoming superior." Henry C Link

You can't learn or grow unless you are willing to make mistakes .If you sit on the sidelines afraid to mess up you sure miss out on a lot of life. I know your mind and soul is screaming danger but you have to be willing to plunge ahead anyway.

This morning I made a rookie mistake. I know better but I did learn from it. Here is what happened. My alarm went off ,why I had a date with my daughter at the gym for seven am .. Mistake number one was not getting up right away. Mistake number two was not drinking any water before I left the house even though I knew it was 95 degrees out for the 4th day in a row. Mistake number three was her talking me into using the treadmills downstairs at the gym .Yes the treadmills downstairs are top of the line but guess what there is no air conditioning down there and we forgot to put the fan on.
The results were not pretty. The day before I used a treadmill at 10% incline at a 3.2 pace. I felt wonderful. This morning the highest incline I could tolerate was a 5 and my speed was a 2.5 for half of the way , and you guessed I it I felt awful.

Now I know to do your best at the gym or any exercise you need to be prepared . You need to have a light snack before . You need to have your coffee.!! lol You need to drink water before during and after. You need to be rested. I cant wait to go to the gym tomorrow to fix my mistakes. Even with my mistake I still burned 2oo calories not to shabby at all.

So go ahead ,be brave ,make mistakes and then get the white out ,out use it learn from it grow and move on.

Yes we do need to learn from our mistakes. I do need to remember my water, when I am working in my yard I have forgotten and don't want to stop. I learned to never do that!!
Take care emoticon

It's amazing you didn't conk out from dehydration. Next time you'll kick some major butt on those machines.

I think you did a nice recovery even with the mistakes yes , I remember last year on the forth it was a hundred degrees outside and I tried to do a major bike ride . After the first 3 miles I had to call someone to pick me up - I was afraid of heat stroke ! In the long run you still showed up to meet your daughter and that could never be a mistake !! Hugs K emoticon
