Day 8, crazy sexy diet, Qigong, chair yoga and me

Saturday, July 06, 2013

Just to give you an example of how great and motivating this book is the focus of the week Taken from the book crazy sexy diet by Kriss Carr.
" Everything you need to learn in life, you can learn from a chair. The diet is the seat( the largest area of the focus) the mind, body, spirit and daily practice are the four legs.
When anyone is off, we topple. Which one is off, doll? Pick one area of focus this week and crank it up!' She is an awesome lady and the book is full of info on food, affirmations and motivation.
I have started to do Qi gong and chair yoga. I can't get on the floor yet to do regular yoga but this is a good stretch and tone for your body.
chair yoga 21 min.
chair salsa
Qigong 20 min.

You may think these are too easy...give chair salsa a whirl.
Usually I put on the music and just dance for 20 min. A good work out because it is rock songs and they put me in a good mood and I don't realize how quickly time goes by.. Just let the music take away the stress and the craving for food that is not right for your body.
There are so many additives in everything we eat that we get fat and unhealthy.
I have learned a lot from this book and exploring the internet. I don't like the way that greed has led companys to spike the animals full of hormones that make them fatter so that they make more money per pound and in turn we get those same hormones.

You think that the time it takes to get healthy is a waste of time because it is too hard. Well I am here to tell you it is a lot harder to take care of a disease or an affliction because you did not take care of that body.

Use your mind and let it really focus on your health. Sure that hot dog tastes so good but it is the butt and tongue and other parts of an animal that is not used...healthy...I don't think so. what is more important taste or health? Cravings for food that harms your body or eating things that make it healthier. I am not trying to turn you all into vegetarians or vegans...I am just saying take time to read labels and get your food from reliable sources...check out the meat for no hormones added. There are some in stores.

I am finding myself changing in so many ways. I want to be more accountable for my own eating...If I put the wrong thing in my mouth , and I am not anywhere near perfect, then I know why I gained instead of lost. Saying I don't know why I gained a pound...come on now...there has to be a reason. I did eat a yogurt blaster yesterday and still lost a pound BUT how much more would I have lost if I had not eaten it. That is what being accountable feels like...taking the courage to own up to why you did not lose more. So give it a whirl...focus, own up to your mistakes and get your adventure going...because life is too short to just let nature take its course.
Come along for the ride, but hold on because it is going to be a bumpy ride.

I love this! I love your resolve and it really speaks to me as I am in a similar boat. I got on the scale this morning and I had gained a pound. At first I wanted to blame it on my ST yesterday but it was b/c I ate like poo. We have to hold ourselves accountable to ourselves and each other to be successful. I'm going to try your links later as I need some yoga ideas. Thanks for sharing.

For a long time I did chair exercises !! For almost three years and they are not easy. Keep up the good work - I practice Ti Chai , have for a while now - the discipline that its teaches us I incredible. I agree the long term disabilities from abusing our bodies are a lot harder to manage and more expensive. Thanks for stopping by yesterday - have a great Saturday- Hugs K emoticon
