I've been on my Vegan journey now, for 7 months and have, admittedly, been intimidated by some of the ingredients and recipes. I finally made Seitan (also known as mock meat) this morning and am looking forward to using it in recipes. It is LOADED with protein thanks to the vital wheat gluten - I use Braggs Amino Acids in place of soy sauce which adds more health to the Seitan.
I've never been very domestic - although I do tend to be anal retentive and love to clean - and never really was one to experiment with recipes. When I made the choice to "go Vegan" I had no choice but to try new foods/recipes. It's been challenging and very rewarding.
If you're not a Vegan/Vegetarian, try substituting just one meat meal a week with a meatless meal. There are a lot of easy, peasy recipes on the internet and lots of wonderful resources.
I love all the new things I'm learning at the age of 53. It only gets better folks!!! Have a beautiful day, Pat
