Hi everyone,

I have been keeping myself busy lately, crocheting, started by making a baby's blanket for my future grandchild (which is getting close now). Then I started one for my granddaughter Tala and now I have started them for my 2 grandsons. Now I have 3 on the go LOL.

I have also been doing my family history, doing it into a book so there is a record of all that I have found. A big job.

I have also been pro-active to find out about dialysis and home dialysis. On one of the times I was in Adelaide, Dad and I went and visited the HD centre and we actually spoke to a lady (patient) there to find out how she is coping. They also leant me a DVD that has been made in Australia about HD, I did learn a lot from this DVD.

I feel a lot better about dialysis and home dialysis than I did before. My history about this started 28 years ago when I had my first kidney biopsy and I was in the renal ward, all I can say about this experience is that they all looked very sick. I also had another biopsy about 15 years ago and the same feelings.

I still don't think I have changed and do not look sick. I think this was half my problem as I do not look like these other patients. I know technology has changed in this time, but how those patients looked stuck into my brain. Not good.

However by watching the said DVD and the people are all on HD, on man explained that he has had trips away, there were about 6 people doing HD and all look incredibly well. They also spoke about how much freedom they have by doing this at home.

Dad, Mum and I got stuck into the house again and started to tackle the passageway for the next stage of the renovations. So far we have done my computer room (Dwayne's old bedroom), I have had 3 lightshade changed and had new ones put in. fixed up a couple places in the lounge room so this room is finished. Looking good.

My son and his girlfriend should have their baby within the next 2 weeks and grandma can't wait. LOL. Saw the other 3 yesterday and now are on school holidays, just started yesterday.

So all in all, things are great in my world.

Things sound like they are looking up......great idea, that HD video....just refuse to think about those ill patients, just let go of the bad feelings & concentrate on being as well as you can be....what we focus our attention on, helps how we manifest everything to do with our lives. Please don't allow fear into your life....take a deep breath & forge are a strong woman, & will do well, I'm sure.

emoticon on the renovating, and the family tree, too....that's a lot of work....make sure you don't overdo things....

Sending Love & Light, and healing to you dear are in my prayers, as always...
Sylvia XOXO

It's always better to be able to do things for yourself at home than to have them done to you somewhere else. Good to hear that you are so positive about it now that you have the knowledge to make the best decision for your circumstances. Kia kaha, Wendy.

I am very proud of you for pursuing educating yourself so you can do what will be best for you. My little sis is more than likely going to have access placed too. She is prepared for home dialysis and thinks when it comes down to it, she'll opt for that.

HGUS and smiles. Prayers too.

emoticon You are on top of it all, for sure! emoticon

My cousin goes to the Royal Hobart Hospital every day. Yes, I reckon it would be much better to be able to get thru the dialysis in your own home. Such a drag having to make the trip to a hospital and also you can make your surrounds more pleasant too.

So glad to hear you're able to calm yourself with new knowledge about your situation. Being distressed creates internal inflammation, which doesn't help at all!

emoticon Wendy! You're sounding very positive! How can you not be when you're on top of things, as you are. I bet the house is looking great and that new grandchild is lucky to have you holding vigil!

You're being proactive on getting information has been a really good thing for you, and I'm glad. It helps tremendously though that you have a open mind.

Good for you, Wendy! I'm happy for you! emoticon emoticon

Sounds like you are doing a lot of great things. Educating yourself to prepare for dialysis is very smart and will help you make the right decision for you. Your house sounds like it is coming a long and I think your son and girlfriend are lucky you are making a keepsake from Granny for their precious baby. Keep up the good work. emoticon

Knowledge is power, my friend. Glad you are gathering information.

Don't you just love sprucing up the place? It always perks me up when I update a room. Which reminds me.....

Gotta go! Work to do!
