So I have not really been losing weight lately. This time around I know exactly why that is: I have been eating like I didn't know better. Really, I'm surprised not to have gained. My self-discipline has gone out the window for a while now.

It's strange, as I am usually good at self discipline: I -should- be able to take what I know of money management and just apply it to food intake. I never spend outside my budget, so how can I so easily eat outside it?

Next weekend I will be in London. One can say a lot of nice things about London, but it is not noted for it's diet-friendliness. Oh well, I'll just take care until then. I have given myself a beer quota and a candy/cake quota for when I am there so I will not feel deprived while at the same time not set myself back and be frustrated when I come home. Hopefully this strategy will do the trick for that trip.

Other than that, life is good. I bike a lot, which is lovely. I need to find a good substitute for outdoor exercise come winter.

So, should we be warning your spouse to expect random sneaky snowball attacks this winter?! Naahh - it's way more fun without warning... emoticon

(I can't help it - I got older, but never managed to grow up... I never think of "mature" things to do like cross-country skiing or snowshoeing - I just think about "how can I play with this?" I'm afraid I'm more in to things that make me giggle than things that make me think of work...)

Yes, it's important to know that, thanks for reminding me!

Though I am still going to get to normal weight, it's good to know that I won't just slip into weight gain. It's all about recalibrating my eating, really.

We actually had a snowball fight in my garden - it it not the prettiest garden, but it has space, so it is perfect for this sort of thing. Thank you for the tip, I'll be sure to make it a regular happening!

It's a good thing to know that you can enjoy your life and still maintain, though, isn't it? That's actually a big part of my own goal - to be able to live, and eat, and enjoy while not gaining.

As for outdoor activities in winter - walking through the snow is a workout all by itself! As is making snowmen, having snowball fights, and keeping the driveway cleared...

Have a wonderful time in London!
