Went out to dinner last night

Saturday, July 06, 2013

It was SO warm yesterday! The car claimed it was 98 at one point. Ran some errands, and took a friend's grandkids to the movies. But the heat was debilitating. Skipped lunch. It was too hot. I think my brain melted.

Then, at some point, while lying in a dark room with the A/C blasting, I discovered I was hungry. My friend and I were both hungry and bored. Not the best combo.

BBC - British Beer Company - best burgers!

Yep, I leapt off the wagon for ONE MEAL ONLY!
OMG - It was so good. Burger and sweet potato fries.
And a diet soda.

I've got to tell you, I enjoyed every bite!
And I refuse to feel guilty about it. It was ONE burger and some fries. Now it's done. Over. Back on the wagon!

People talk about the 80/20 rule, and that's ok. I'm not going to worry about percentages right now. I just one I had one off-program meal, and it didn't break me. No; I am not planning to do this every weekend. Yes, I could have made a better choice. And I could have made a worse choice. But it's done. No regrets. No guilt. I'll have a smoothie for breakfast!!

The burger sounds great,,but I tell you, when the thermometer goes sky high like that, ANYTHING that frosts a glass is a welcome drink, isn't it? Two years ago I bought a nice blender at Kmart for $40 that makes slurpees, smoothies, anything, but sometimes I just toss some ice cubes and some water in it and make a water slurpee!! Toss in a splash of any fruit juice, kool aid,etc it brings that core temp don just fine!!

Your burger blast sounds like fun and of course:no guilt!! Ever try one with NO mayo, catsup? Cuts those calories a lot!! You also get to really taste the sandwich,,

Stay cool today!!

I am somewhat following the Mediterranean diet. The book I have recommends red meat once per month. I had a burger 3 weeks ago. Next weekend, just because I can, I'm having a burger and fries. The burger will be within my program. Looking forward to it. Glenn
