I had a great workout today. My day started with going with Ed to his doctor's appointments and then we did a little shopping. We got home and I was able to go the the pool for my usual LONG hard workout. After yesterday's day of rest, it felt good to workout hard today. It was time for a switch up for me and I really needed that rest time.
I got an invitation to my niece's wedding in September - that made me smile broadly.
I got a call from my cousin telling me my aunt is in the hospital and having surgery this afternoon - made me cry - so far no news is good news though since it is minor surgery but frankly when you are approaching your 90th birthday (actually the day of my niece's wedding), ANY surgery is a BIG DEAL especially if you are a diabetic. Prayers going out for her speedy recovery and that this surgery goes well. In the past 3 years, she has dealt with cancer, serious falls that resulted in broken bones, a couple of strokes, and a number of other serious issues. She is still alert, active (with assistance and a wheelchair) and for her age and the number of serious health issues, she is doing quite amazing.
My cousin also shared that she is joining her husband in retirement - her hubby is 3 years younger than me and she is 6 years younger than me - it does make me a wee bit envious that she is able to retire. This is the 3rd family member who is YOUNGER than me who has retired recently and it does give me pause to think about how much longer I REALLY WILL be able continue to work. That is PART of my reason for working so hard to improve my health because frankly the effort and the energy required seems to grow with every pound I weigh and every additional ache or pain that I have. Since I cannot afford retirement at this time, I REALLY NEED to heal completely and ramp up my energy.
Anyhow, I am really tired and going to sign off so I can get to my email and get to bed. Tomorrow is the women's breakfast at church and then I am going swimming so I won't be around until evening tomorrow.
Have a blessed and Spectacular Saturday and PLEASE say a special prayer for my Aunt Beth - I love her dearly and she is very close to me.
