Howdy Friends!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! I know I did. My hubby and I spent the evening of the 4th with my family. I am super proud of us because my hubby and I both showed self control and stuck to our calorie range even though there were alot of junk foods that people brought over for our potluck. We did great by tracking and sticking to our guns and not indulging. It was super hard not having a Lofthouse Sugar Cookie though....you know the ones that melt in your mouth?? mmmmm, those were so tempting but I did not submit. Yay.

This morning, my husband and I graduated our couch to 5k program!!! woohoo!!!! We went out this morning on the trails since we both had the day off from work and boy was it hot out! It was already in the 80's at 9am!!! Yikes! But, we made it!!! I felt like I was going to die with the sun beating on me and sweat pouring down my face, but I conquered through. One thing that was a bit irritating this morning while running were my new running shorts. They kept on riding up my thighs and I am very self conscious about my jiggly thighs....I don't even go swimming without swim shorts on so it was tough trying to run with the shorts riding up. I had to keep on pulling them down every so often and that was taking a bit of energy away from my run. After the run, I noticed that my thighs were very chafed and sore either from the shorts or from my thighs trying to keep my shorts down my keeping my thighs together while running. Weird, I know. Well, tonight I went shopping for something to put underneath my shorts to prevent chafing and make me not so self conscious about my shorts riding up. I bought a pair of capri compression moisture wicking pants to go underneath my shorts. That way I don't get distracted by my thinking of what my thighs look like because they are being held in place my my compression capri pants. Problem solved. Woohoo!

So, today I also went swimming for about an hour. When I tracked this underneath my fitness, it said I had burned like a massive amount of calories. Is this for real?! Does swimming really burn a lot of calories. If so, then wow! That's awesome!

After having a productive day, I am just chilling now at home with about 150 calories left in my calorie range that I can eat but I am deciding that I really don't need to eat EVERY single calorie in my recommended calorie range.

So, I am just chilling and I know I am going to sleep very well tonight with how active I've been today. I feel great.

Swimming does burn a huge amount of calories if it real swimming, doing all out laps in the pool. Just hanging out in the pool and playing around obviously doesn't burn many calories.

So happy you finished C25k! I still have a long way to go and am in awe that you are doing it outside in the heat!
