Strength training (even on the boy side), eating better...Going to make July awesome

I just realized that I haven't blogged in forever. I feel I have made some very solid strides in June though, and I ready to move forward making this month a good one.

The changes:

1) I have been pretty good about tracking. I may miss a day here and there, but I am keeping myself as honest as I can with everything that I eat.

2) I have really committed to Live Fit. I did 2 weeks semi-faithfully, and then committed to the routine totally 2 weeks ago. To pull this off well, I went to the boy side of the gym. I haven't done dead lifts, but I have been doing squats with a barbell, and using the machines where you up the weight plates onto the machine. I feel pretty hardcore when I am over there with the guys. But, truth be told, there are amazingly fit/strong girls over there as well. I haven't talk to any of them, but they are motivating me to keep lifting. I sort of want to ask them what they eat, but, that would be rude...but I just want so much to know how they maintain what they have as it might help me learn to get there. I'm making a lot of Jamie Eason's snacks and trying to do her meals, but I'm just not sure...

3) Protein. I am really working hard on this. I have long since learned carbs are my down fall. I love bread in all of its yummy varieties (like red lobster cheesy biscuits), but I know when I start that its a lot of calories, and just not as filling. I have been trying to keep my carbs lower (I use the pie graph on my fitness pal), and increasing my protein. This means egg whites for breakfast, 4-6 oz of chicken breast for lunch/dinner, and trying to do salads/veggies as sides with it being a treat for bread. I have not done so hot this week, but overall I feel like my hunger is in check, and I feel better. I may still do a sweet treat at night, but its Jamie's Almond honey crisp or hot chocolate with protein powder.

As for weight, I have not lost much. I have probably lost 4 lbs over the last month give or take, but I feel different. I am shimmying out of my 18's, which is awesome. Gold's had be down 4 lbs, and then up 2 lbs in muscle, and that I lost inches. My goal is still to lose 10 lbs by August, but mainly just to keep working on all of the changes that I have made to see where this will go. These small changes aren't too hard, it just takes a little more planning to stay on track. Alright, off for a healthier lunch and the gym :)

    I'm a carb lover too. Give me breads and pastas any day over just about anything else. It's so hard to change that, but it does have to be done.

Congrats on your loss, and shrinking sizes.

    Sounds good - I would ask them what they ate ? This is my next project and one I dread ! Is getting the arms toned - Argh - very hard but now a necessity , emoticon I have no idea why I am such chicken when it come to working that part of my body - so Kudos to you ! I used to love bread and tons of it - its so good !! Now I just try to manage some control over it - I do track it though even the fumbles - oops ! NSV are the best !!     Great work! Even if you are not losing so much weight doesn't mean you are not doing well.
