Food tracking done for the 15th day in a row and SparkPeople 11-Minute Seated Cardio Workout Video exercise done and tracked for the 14th day in a row. Today is weekly weigh in day. Down .8 lbs. I've been food tracking consistently for two weeks and I'm coming within 50 calories of 1800 per day every day. The end of week one I lost 9 pounds. The end of week two I lost .8 lbs.
My behavior is consistent and my results are wildly inconsistent. What to make of that? Well, first of all the sample size is too small to draw any big conclusions. It will be interesting to see what the trends look like after tracking my calories for six weeks. I think it's possible that a small loss this week is somehow a correction for the large loss in week one, which was mostly water I suspect. I've got monthly hormone fluctuations and edema and I've started a small amount of consistent exercises which could all be contributing to my lackluster results this week.
So, I am only going to make a small change for the next week. I've been eating 1800 per day and I'm going to take that down to 1700 per day. SparkPeople thinks I should eat 2200 - 2550 calories per day. According to Spark reports, I've got a calorie differential today of 1989 which if repeated should result in a weight loss of 3.78 per week.
I have no plans to change my exercise. The 11 minute seated cardio workout is very challenging for me and so what I'm aiming for is consistency. I plan to do it every day this summer. On the first day of fall, September 22, I may change it up a bit.
Emotionally I am doing well. Listening to Stevie Wonder sing "Superstition" on Pandora. Feeling motivated and committed. I have a routine in place that is doable and any tweaks and changes to improve my results will be small and gradual.
I'll be back tomorrow.
