yea, but seriously...

You may have missed me lately ( I mean, I HOPE you did!). First I was the on vacation then came home and played catch up with work then I got SO sick with bronchitis and a sinus infection that totally kicked my ass now this is a holiday week with family coming, lots of events and 7 days of over 105 degree heat.

I haven't been eating well.
I haven't been exercising.
I have gained weight.
My blood work came back that my cholesterol is high again.


These are not things that make me happy. At all.

I need to refocus again and I'm going to make some new goals.
I feel I have lost my way for quite a whole now so I'm going to write down some reasons I want to get healthier and that includes a healthy weight.
I'm going to write down a plan of attack.

Look for my blog on Monday and please, do your sparky thing and help hold me accountable.

I will never surrender and never admit defeat but reality is staring me in the face nd I can't deny it.

I'm coming back and I intend to succeed.

    Gosh, Jan. Being sick takes a lot out of you both physically and mentally. When your immune system is low you don't have a lot of control of your emotions, at least I don't. So build yourself back up a bit and your brain will follow.

    I always think I'm the one who "can't do it" but I made a commitment for the month of July (ONLY) and I encourage you to do the same: make a commitment for a short amount of time and stick to it. When it's over you can re-evaluate and see if it's working, if it needs some fine-tuning, or if you don't want to keep it going. I see it as a choice. I can do it or not do it. Right now I am creating all kinds of strategies for myself because I know how easy it is to say F it.

    Knowing what we should and shouldn't do is a good start! Cholesterol high, confirms what you already knew, now you have proved it!! Doing the right thing for a day is not too hard, but doing it consistently gets more difficult (we all have found that out)!

    I try to eat right and exercise most of the time, but not all the time. The trick there is to splurge on calories and then get back under control. As soon as I figure out a fool proof way to get back on track I will let you know!

    Not admitting defeat is a great attitude and in the long run, that will help see you through!

    Just how tough are you? It is circumstances like these, that let us know - do we curl up in a big old heap and give up, or do we forge ahead, more determined than ever? In my experience, you are very tough so I foresee you forging ahead, step by step, so you can look back at this period and say emoticon "phew! I DID it - I managed to get through to the other side, stronger than ever!" Forge on Mama, forge on.

    Of course we have missed you. Glad you are feeling better so can you snap to it. Me too. Not that I ever felt bad but I am snapping to it today. No time like the present.

    I too need to make some goals. I at least have a short priority list in my last blog... from this morning. I had not blogged in a while either. I will be looking for your Monday blog my friend.

    As I was telling myself this morning. You can do whatever you set your mind to. The key is setting your mind to it.
