So Wednesday as I was leaving work I found out my dad had taken my mom to the ER. Decade long story short my mom has a chronic illness (autoimmune disease) and has been on immuno suppressants for about a month. On Sunday she came down with a fever and had gotten progressively worse.
I was on the way home because she hadn't, at that point, been admitted to the hospital yet, when I was rear ended on the interstate. It was a three car/ chain reaction accident. My car had the least amount of damage, and was the only one was that able to drive away. The other cars had to be towed, and are probably totaled.
When I finally got home, I was starving. But I was still wound up from the adrenaline rush from the accident, and was afraid to eat much. So I had an apple for dinner Wednesday.
They admitted my mom to the hospital and got her in a room around 9:30 that night. I got to the hospital about 10 and stayed for a little over twelve hours. They don't really know what's going on (it seems like they never really do). She'll be in the hospital for a few days, and they're running some more tests today.
I've got some bruises and I'm pretty sore, but otherwise fine. It could have been a lot worse.
