Deep in the Denizen of 4th o' July Day, Her Majesty Am120s, who took some allergy meds yesterday and ended up VERY sleepy so she had a nice holiday rest, wandered down to the Royal Kitchen. On her mind was a confab with the Royal Chef, who is VERY ANCIENT and has a lot of recipes garnered from her unknown centuries of life as first a scullery kid, then a student chef at the Blue Ribbon Royal School of Cookery and then CENTURIES as an apprentice Royal Chef in the Queen's Kitchen, which is far underground on the first floor of the palace. She eventually, as do we all, became a little bit older and is now referred to as Ancient Chef.
SO, anyhow, Q. Am120s was just jawin' with Ancient Chef about how she (the queen) liketh well the gluten free food she hath been gettin' from the kitchen but LONGS for pizza.
She (Queen) be no royal slouch of a cook herownself and had tried to make pizza with a gluten free pizza crust she had purchased. Then she had used gluten free flour and gave it a try. Just wasn't the same, she whined to Ancient Chef.
SOOOOOO, Ancient Chef, of course, consulted the Spark Recipes (a reason we frequent this site as they are fun to look at and try, but we would request more gluten free stuff there, not complaining, just noting that).
AC found a recipe for a pizza made with cauliflower crust and made it. We are going to add it to our recipe box this morning as it was really good. A little different but a tasty dish that connotes pizza and cauliflower to the Queen. (Cauliflower being one of the very small number of veggies that the Queen actually likes.)
Ancient Chef made the recipe in four little pizza rounds
and there are two left, now in the freezer for another such occasion.
