Happy 4th of July!

Thursday, July 04, 2013

I'm going to do a quick blog post to distract myself from the fact that I'm still kind of hungry. I had a skinny margarita, tortilla chips, salsa, bean dip, guacamole, and some kind of spinach and cheese dip thing around 3 p.m. with a girlfriend before we went to see Monsters University. It's tough to estimate all those calories, and I'm pretty sure that I'm at my max for the day even though my estimate says I've got 230 calories to go. When I came home from the movie, I was hungry, but I made a smoothie from 2 cups of spinach, 1 banana, a cup of frozen blueberries and water. Way to get more nutrients without a ton of calories! But I'm still feeling munchy... I probably should have put a scoop of protein powder into the smoothie.

The other thing I wanted to blog about is that I finally got off my buts and started the couch to 5k program today. It's been a long time since I tried this and the last time I got stalled around week 3. So far, W1D1 was not so bad. I did the 5 min. warm up at a 3.1 mph pace, then jogged at 4 mph, and back to 3.1 for each of the cool down walks. I am super proud of myself. And I also think that this time might have been a little easier than last time, but the memory of last time is really vague and I could just be delusional! I do think I'm in much better shape than last time around. Maybe I'll manage to get past week 3!

OK, I guess that's it. I'm going to grab my glass of water and go get into bed with a book even though it's just a little past 8 p.m. I'm hoping I'll be able to avoid eating anything else tonight!

You know, I think week 3 of the C25K is the hardest. It's a transition week or something... As far as the munchies, you might be thirsty...
