How I survived The 4th of July.

I did very well today! We woke up late after a restless night, so I only had an orange for breakfast, which gave me a lot of leftover calories for later. Had a glass of nonfat milk and a Lean Cuisine lasagna for lunch. For the big dinner I brought my own pretty much. I made the barbecue pulled chicken from Sparkrecipes.com with whole wheat buns and measured out my own beforehand, everyone really enjoyed it, and I left the leftovers there, because it is so good I didn't want to bring it home and eat it all tonight. I also brought a veggie tray with fire roasted tomato hummus, that was a smash hit while everyone was waiting for the Grill Master to finish his job, and I only ate some baby carrots minus the hummus, but I brought ALL the leftovers of that home (there wasn't much). And I brought the corn on the cob and unsalted butter, my mom is a fanatic of the salted spreadable kind. There was no corn left to bring home. I also brought Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, but I didn't eat any, and left them there too. And watermelon was provided. So, I had some baby carrots as an appetizer, a pulled chicken sandwich, 1/2 an ear of corn on the cob (I halved them before cooking) with 1 pat of unsalted butter, and a slice of watermelon. It is also my brothers 21st birthday on the 6th, so we had an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen there, and since I only had an orange for breakfast, I had enough calories remaining to have a piece. I entered everything into my tracker the night before. My breakfast was bigger then, so I didn't have room for the cake, but since we woke up late, I was able to change it. I left feeling VERY satisfied. And I am SO proud of myself. I even got some exercise in. While everyone was just sitting around talking and letting their food digest, I took the baby outside to play. Mind you I didn't have any company, even though I invited them all to come out and play with us. Oh well, I don't mind missing out on that time with family if it means I am living a healthier lifestyle. BEST DAY EVER! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
