We moved here about a month ago and things are going alright. Finally found a job. Its nothing much but will help with our bills that are becoming past due as I type. Before I moved I started a diet and found even though the diet was working in some respects (Losing weight) I was not feeling great. For the past month other than settling in, planting a garden and looking for work as I take care of my family... I have been trying to find a way to eat food that not only makes me lose weight but also feel better about my food decisions.

Before I had been pregnant with my son I was a hardcore Vegan. I felt awesome! Even though I had back issues, they hardly got in the way of my life. My physical life. When I did get pregnant my hormones totally threw me for a loop. Towards the end I found myself addicted to sugar. I have been fighting this addiction ever since. It has ruined who I felt I was.

I have put babysteps into effect the last couple of weeks. Baby steps no sweetner or cream in my coffee. Thats a lot of calories. Lot of fat. I have been drinking my coffee black. I have missed it.

Babysteps to the farmers market. I have been trying to eat more organic produce and we buy our eggs from the farmers markets. Soon when we both have jobs we are going to buy meats as well. I have been looking more into the "Traditional eating" The way most of my family has gone. For me its been tough, jobless and couldn't afford all the fancy things but am starting to make it a priority. I have seen my mom drop 100lbs easy, my cousin lost 70lbs in two months and step mother and father lost about 90lbs between them. They say that they feel fuller longer and I have found that I do too. Where as I normally eat three pancakes, I just had one with fresh Blackberries and strawberry jam with a pad of butter. That was about 4 hours ago. I am going to the kitchen and making a salad in a few. I made some Tzatziki but made it more into a dressing. Its delicious. Its fresh and I toss in all sorts of herbs. We have Dill growing in the backyard and Basil. I will hardboil some eggs and have an egg on the side.

It will be delicous.

Thank you Lisa, I have known for a while but thought I felt alright. For a short stint before the move I gave it up for the most part. It was tough the two weeks. When I moved in though I had baked the neighbor a carrot cake and a couple for the house. We were supposed to freeze one but that didn't happen.

Its time to take baby steps towards my goals. Thank you for being supportive.

It took me months(I was in denial for YEARS) to break my sugar addiction! You can do it too! I have faith in you. Just keep it out of the house. If I don't have it I don't miss it. The minute I have sugar ANYTHING I crave it for days afterward! It's not worth it! Good luck!
