nope, it was not free. So many fought and gave their very lives for our freedom. The men who founded our country believed in so much. There strength ran so deep. Today I am so thankful for that freedom. Even though I'm frustrated with the political atmosphere today, even though I'd love to see a bit more *Mayberry*... it could just be that those days are gone. So I do what I can to create a little bit of it in my world. Slow down and smell the roses... and the coffee... =)

In the spirit of all that is American, today especially I am thankful for my two favorite military men.... My Uncle Carl, who was a career air force man, we lost him 5 years ago to cancer. And my Mark. =) Who served two tours of duty, between 77 and 85. He was in Germany and Italy and I love to hear about all he got to do there. (He was peacetime.) The military changed them both in different ways, but nevertheless, they gave all they had for their country, both during times when being a soldier wasn't necessarily easy....

So today we are taking it easy. I just don't feel so great, so took a long nap til the phone woke me up... and then got me some grandbaby girl love over the phonelines. =) Have been spot on food today, but not hard to do beings I feel so cruddy. (I think one of my vitamins is making me a bit nauseated, I've noticed it a couple times now after I take it I just get... miserable...) ANYWAY... Hoping to get the gumption to get thru another chapter in biz math today... we'll see how that goes. We already went and spent some time at his brother's place.... it was just too hot for me sitting in the sun and Mark doesn't seem to be feeling the best today either. AND ... he woke up and his left jaw is swelling up like a chipmunk.. not sure WHAT that is all about... he says he's in no pain at all, thought maybe a spider bite or something, but I'm just not seeing anything except a huge bump. Going to keep an eye on it and if it grows much more between now and tomorrow, I'm calling pallative care to see what the nurse thinks.. we'll go from there.

Anyway.. hope everyone is having a good day and enjoying time with friends and family, or even just a quiet day at home. =)

1977 must have been a good year. That's when I enlisted...Navy though. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. That and getting out before someone started a shooting war.
