Weight Loss Road block #1: Why is it so expensive to eat healthy?

I mean, seriously? You constantly hear and read about how we as Americans eat too many processed foods. Yet when you go out to buy "healthy" foods, you wind up paying an arm and a leg. And I'm not even trying to buy organic! And yes, I know to buy only fruits and veggies that are "in season" or on sale, but it still adds up. Problem is, I am on a limited budget and live with other people are not on board with me and my new chosen meal plan. So now we have my food and everyone else's food. That means me shelling out $ I don't have. Sigh...I need to find my more stable, reliable job soon so I can afford to eat healthy.

I plan. I do. And I deplete what I have in my cupboards. And I'm all about coupons, but they are hard to come by for the foods I actually want to buy. My main concern is the produce as they are perishable. And I am eating a lot of it. I do have frozen veggies. However, for my salads, I used fresh veggies like lettuce and cucumbers and tomatoes (I know it's a fruit). There aren't coupons for fresh veggies and fruits

Feel proud you are following through with your food plan!!

Some of the suggestions I saw online were about food planning as it can save you time, stress, food waste, as well as keep you focused on your goals. I saw something about planning based on what you already have in your cupboards/fridge and also planning based on the grocery store flyer/promotions.

Also, I have a friend who is all about coupons! Maybe you should investigate the super coupon craze! This may sound a bit nutty, but I think it's cool how people who understand coupon methodology can save a lot! Just don't go nutty or buy 8 of something just to save.

It's not a road block, just an obstacle. You can get through it and overcome it!!!
