They say that it takes three weeks of repeating behaviors to develop a habit. Tomorrow will be twenty-one days back on my SP goals, and I'm feeling better every day! I have exercised everyday, and met my nutritional goal for 19 of 20 days so far. Woohoo! I plan to make healthy living a lifelong habit once and for all.
I had great success with this program from 2006-2008, but gradually drifted back into bad habits and gained most of the weight back. This years physical was a rude awakening, with the recommendation that I start cholesterol medicine, and the lecture about getting my weight down before it causes more health risks. Fortunately blood pressure and glucose readings are normal. I'm determined to get this back under control by taking the weight back off, and being mindful so I can maintain a healthy weight for good this time. I had so much more energy and felt so much better when I was in the "normal" weight range, and it's even more important now as I get older...Because I''m looking forward to a long and active retirement!!!
