Peachtree 5K and happy Independence Day!

Thursday, July 04, 2013

Ran a 5K today (in 100 degree heat). Made it in 34 minutes, which is the same time it took me to run the last one. Due to the heat I kept telling myself the whole race, slow down, slow down! So, does that mean I am faster then a few weeks ago? I sincerely hope so!
On the down side, I havent had much sleep lately. The extreme heat makes me get up at 4am if I want to get a run in while the weather is somewhat cool (usually, 80+ degrees! and 80 tends to feel cold! I'm going to be suffering come winter!). I also tend to work out twice a day, so I end up going to sleep around 10pm, if I can. Unfortunately, lack of shut-eye is beginning to catch up with me and I am daydreaming about sleeping in tomorrow... even though I know I shouldn't!
Hopefully everyone has a great Independence Day, and of course, while you are doing races, BBQs and pool parties, please remember what this holiday is about. Have a great day!
