Our 20th anniversary was technically last week but we celebrated tonight. Dh knows how to treat a woman right! He took me downtown Seattle to the waterfront. We went up the Great (ferris) Wheel and looked down on the city and across the bay. Then we had a very delicious salmon dinner at Ivar's - the sit-down restaurant, not the fast food place.
When you can't have nightshades, 90% of the menu as it is printed is off limits to you. I could have probably asked for some modifications but I found a lovely entree that was completely safe for me. I ordered a tamarind and peach glazed salmon with a cherry chutney, crisp sauteed green beans and Calrose rice. They don't know how to "really" cook rice the Japanese way, but I forgive the chef for that! The meal was truly excellent. I did ruin my diet with one thing. I wasn't thinking when I ordered a cup of clam chowder as an appetizer. I was enjoying the very tasty chowder when I suddenly realized that I was chomping down on a potato. Of course, chowder has potato in it! Nightshade alert. I am a bit achy tonight but since I still have been achy off and on even with my nightshade avoidance, it might have no relation. Only time with tell if the small amount in the cup of chowder will set me off on a flare.
Other than walking up and down the waterfront, I did not exercise today.
