And I'm ready to join him! Dishes are done, laundry is in the dryer, and yoga has been yoga-ed. My total dollars in the jar so far this month: 6. Three for exercise of 30 mins or greater, two for nutrition tracker accuracy, and one for walking 5 miles.
Tomorrow night is my first shift at my new job. I picked up a gift for my preceptor at the local shrine to good eats that I talked about in my previous blog. Since I don't know him at all, I got him some Trash (cheesy), some Firecrackers (spicy), and a 7-layers of Heaven bar (sweet). If he is like me, and avoiding treats, he can share it out among the rest of the crew and be the hero of the night. If he is young and fit, he can munch on it all to his heart's content, but if he's smart he'll still share it out, lol!
Being a preceptor is a pain in the butt. I will be increasing his workload, not reducing it, for at least the first couple of weeks. Plus, if I screw up, it makes him look bad, even though that hardly seems fair. But that is the way of Slick. If I do something awesome, he will look good by virtue of reflected Slick. See what I mean about Slick being a sorry way to look at things? So, I have to learn the new unit, begin the process of learning burns, and avoid accidentally damaging his Slick. Even though I'm through with Slick, it is pervasive in our world. So a fancy paper bag of goodies is the least I can do to say, "Thanks for taking a chance on me."
