It works right away! It came with a battery that was well charged, and easy to install. It worked right away! I still sort of wish it had a usb cable adapter, remote access is easier. However, it feels a bit less secure. Yet the adapter automatically syncs to my computer every time it turns on, that is far easier compared to digging up a chord.
"We at SparkPeople are big fans of the Fitbit tracking devices—and we think that these devices will benefit members like you, too!" - http://www.sparkpeople.com/fit
Fitbit is Amazing!!! I have never gotten any wireless object to work before!!! It is the greatest, and makes the fitness section on SP SSSOOOO much easier! Plus Fitbit has its own users who are in really fun teams and groups. Worth the effort! I can see why SparkPeople linked to the pages.
Yet this part is creepy:
"How does my Fitbit tracker know when I’m asleep? Your tracker has a motion sensor that analyzes your movement patterns in such a way that it can distinguish between when you are awake and when you are asleep. It works most accurately when worn on your wrist during sleep, because arm movements are a good indicator of how heavily you are sleeping. When you sync your tracker to your Dashboard, you'll be able to see how long it took you to fall asleep, how many times you woke up during the night, and the actual time you were asleep versus the time you were in bed. " - Fitbit forum
It knows when you are sleeping, it knows when Your awake! It is Santa clause's elves! I got used to pedometers when I used the Pokewalker Pokemon step counter, and I found that odd. Even the old world 1990s Pokewalkers has the Pokemon characters sleep when you were asleep, and dance when you woke up. How does it know that? Mystery solved.
