We had a fun time at Taos today. The scenery on the way was absolutely breathtaking! It is part of the Enchanted Circle which is a scenic drive. We ate lunch outside at a cute little restaurant called Graham's! Shared a reuben with my friend and it was the best one I have ever had! Here is a picture of our group! This is my niece (with the dark hair) and her family, my mom and dad, family friend, me, Itty Bitty and DS.
After lunch, we walked The Plaza and did a little shopping. Here is me with my niece, mom, and family friend.
After a little shopping, we headed back to Red River just in time for a lovely mountain shower! I love the rain in the mountains. It is so soothing, and almost cleansing to me. We spent the rest of the afternoon resting and playing games.
Tonight, I went on a hike through the mountain trail all by myself. I can't remember the last time I spent that much time alone. I love spending as much time as I can with my family, but it was also nice to be alone with my thoughts for a while. I felt refreshed and re-energized by the time I got back home. I was still amazed by how my body handled the steep climbs of the mountain trails. At the end of the trail there is a very steep descent where they have built steps into the side of the mountain. After going down them, I felt so good that I decided to turn around and go back up the steps and do the trail again! I am lovin' these new strong legs of mine!
Thank y'all for reading my blogs and all of your sweet encouraging comments! I have not had time on this trip to get back and thank you all personally, but I read all the comments and am amazed by how many friends I have cheering me on the way! Thank you, my sweet friends!
I'm going to try to head to bed early tonight! We have a busy day ahead tomorrow! There will be a parade through Main St. at 9:00 followed by games on the lawn at the Community House! They do old fashioned sack races and egg tosses and it is great family fun! Tomorrow night, there will be more line dancing and family games!
Hope you all have a wonderful 4th tomorrow!
