My shift wasn't a long one as far as hours go but around 8:30, I had a nice young couple with two carts full of groceries and had their own reusable bags with them....VERY LARGE bags - about half of their items were cold/frozen.
Target has a new thing for the cell phone called the CartWheel. Unfortunately, when I finished scanning all their items then scanned the CartWheel coupon, the computer froze up. It wouldn't let me go back, clear, or even suspend the purchase. SO...I had to RESCAN EVERYTHING. This time, on a different computer as mine had to be rebooted. Did it again. When I tried suspending, then retrieve the info, it went from $408 to $48!!! Uh....a little problem???
It took the third time scanning EVERYTHING and the last time, I scanned the coupons AS I SCANNED EACH ITEM. Finally....SUCCESS! LOL I didn't look at the clock but I am pretty sure it took at LEAST half an hour, if not more. Really bad!
The people were very nice and patient but I asked my supervisor to get them at least four or five apology coupons - worth $3 each - to offset the inconvenience. The couple wasn't upset with me but I still felt bad for what they had to endure to finish their purchase.
