Getting Close to Nature

Wednesday, July 03, 2013

Today I went for a walk at our new home. We headed down the block and then down another street to explore. I knew there was a creek not far so we set out to find it. We found it and it was so beautiful early in the morning my dog was trying to get closer to it but as it was down a steep bank I decided because it was running quite fast that that wasn't a good idea. She met a couple of new dogs on our walk.

Later in the day I was looking out my window and what did I see but a deer munching happily on the some bushes. We took some pictures but we had to go into town to get some supplies. I figured when we got back the deer would be gone but no it was still nibbling away.

In the evening we where enjoying sitting in the backyard with company and down flew a woodpecker. I believe it was searching for a new home to build a nest.

I am discovering nature after living in the city for so long. I have to pinch myself to make sure that I am not dreaming that this wonderful home that we are now in is where I am living now. The people here are all so friendly and welcoming.

Tonight I walked toward the lake past the hay fields, looking a the low mountains, fields and trees. The smells are heavenly no exhaust fumes, no house to house street and no sirens every 10 minutes or less. I live in the country now surrounded by trees, mountains and farms.

I love my walks and getting close to nature.

emoticon We have deer in our back yard also, but I don't really like them because they tend to hang around my garden and eat the young plants! emoticon
But i'm glad you're enjoying yours! emoticon
